The CEO of a Michigan-based private healthcare company resigned from his position after he was seen yelling at anti-ICE protesters, whom he called “terrorists,” while calling for his “patriots” to come as backup.

Key data

Jayden Scott, founder of Harmony Investment Group, said in a Saturday post on LinkedIn that he resigned from the Troy, Michigan-based company due to recent events in the United States and differences of opinion between him and its Board of Directors.

During a demonstration against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis following the death of Renee Good, Scott was seen on video repeatedly telling protesters through a megaphone, “We executed one of you yesterday,” urging them to keep their hands to themselves or “you’re going to get hurt today.”

Scott looked into the camera and shouted, “no one can stop what is coming,” calling for more “patriots” to flock to Minnesota, which has become the epicenter of the anti-ICE movement.

Michigan news outlet MLive.com reported that Scott, who founded Harmony Investment Group in 2022, previously appeared as a counter-protester during a “No Kings” protest in Bay City, Michigan.

Key background

Anti-ICE protests broke out across the United States over the weekend, including in New York City, where clashes between protesters and counterprotesters led to at least one person being detained by police, according to the New York Times. The protests have been largely peaceful and are demanding accountability after Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said she would send “hundreds more” agents to Minneapolis to protect ICE agents in response to the protests.
