The Trump administration has no plans to allow Nvidia to sell its most advanced AI chip, known as Blackwell, to China at this time, the White House said Tuesday.
“As far as the most advanced chips go, the Blackwell chip, it’s not something we’re interested in selling to China at this time,” White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said during a White House news conference.

The remarks echo President Donald Trump’s comments on Sunday, when he said the most advanced chips made by the world’s most valuable company would be reserved for U.S. companies and kept out of China and other countries.
Since August, questions had been raised about whether Trump would allow a scaled-down version of the Blackwell chip to be shipped to China after he suggested he might allow such sales.
Trump had hinted that he might discuss chips with Chinese President Xi Jinping at their summit in South Korea last week, but ultimately said the topic did not come up.
