In the Mexican entrepreneurial ecosystem, talking about consciousness still sounds “soft”, as if it were something secondary to strategy or profitability. But after several years of undertaking, leading a team and growing a company from scratch, we must be clear: consciousness is not only possible, it is a real competitive advantage.
Mexico moves thanks to its small and medium enterprises. MSMEs represent more than 99% of businesses, generate more than 70% of formal employment and provide more than half of the national GDP. And yet, very few talk about the personal cost of building those figures. Undertaking usually accompanied by wear, anxiety, self -examination and constant pressure to demonstrate that everything is under control. And that, in the long run, takes its toll.
Every entrepreneur can fall into the trap of believing that you have to be available 24/7 to solve everything, and at the same time, not show tiredness and that starting a company is synonymous with permanent sacrifice. Maintaining this position is very overwhelming, and even body and mind end up saying “enough.” At that time one understands that a successful business is not built at the expense of the welfare of who leads it, on the contrary: when the leader is fine, the business is also, and that is awareness.
Employing with conscience does not mean lowering the demand. It means making decisions with perspective, with purpose, clearly. It’s about forming healthy equipment, creating real relationships with customers, building something that not only bilches well, but has a soul. And this is not just business philosophy: it is a solid strategy. More than 60% of the founders in Mexico report having suffered burnout or business related anxiety. In that context, prioritizing well -being, approach and mental health becomes a business decision, not just personal.
Today, people want brands with cause products with history, companies that know what they exist for. It is no longer enough to sell: you have to connect. And that is achieved when leadership comes from an authentic place, not from fear or hurry.
Companies such as Bimbo, with their focus on internal well -being and social commitment, or field air, which has created an ethical ecosystem around organic and sustainable production, show that leading with purpose strengthens both reputation and profitability. These practices not only attract talent and loyalty customers: they generate resilience and competitive advantages in increasingly demanding markets.

Consciousness as a competitive advantage: why the business of the future can no longer be heartless
Consciousness, from a personal opinion, is what allows us to make better decisions, attract committed talent and sustain growth, without getting lost along the way. It is not about living in perfect balance-that is unreal-but about having the ability to listen, adjust and act from a much more solid internal place.
The act of undertaking is not a speed race, it is resistance and as in every long distance, what matters is not only how fast you go but how you hold on the way. You can have high performance moments, yes, but there is no solid base
“Emotional, physical, mental- eventually you are going to wear out. Taking care, listening and staying aligned does not guarantee success, but makes it much more likely. Because when you are fine, you have more clarity, more creativity, more ability to make accurate decisions. And that, in a race that can last for years, changes everything.
If you are in the process of undertaking and something is not making sense, if you think you are moving forward but without a clear direction, I invite you to stop. To question. To ask yourself if you are building something that represents you or you are only repeating a wrong model. The good news is that there is another way, a more conscious, more aligned and, paradoxically, more profitable.
That is clear: consciousness in leadership is not at odds with the ambition to climb. In fact, companies that operate with healthy cultures, with a clear purpose and relationships of trust, scale more sustainably. A aligned and connected equipment yields better, innova faster and supports growth with less friction. Profitability and humanity are not opposite: they are allies when they are integrated strategically.
In a world that goes faster, leading from consciousness is, perhaps, the most strategic decision that an entrepreneur can take. Because, at the end of the day, anyone can raise a company and build something that represents it, which at the same time inspires and supports others without ending the entrepreneur … that requires another class of leadership, one that is not only measured in sales or investment rounds, but in coherence, impact and inner peace.
