“What is happening?” Stallone wrote in an Instagram post this Wednesday, January 15, accompanying screenshots of the videos created by fans. “Hahaha, this is definitely not to be taken seriously!”
Sylvester Stallone sent such a message to his fans after the fake trailers for The Godfather Part 4in which he appears as the protagonist, went viral online.
Although some fans seemed disappointed that Stallone, 78, was not going to star in another installment of the famous gangster franchise, many fans called for him to star in the next film, if there ever is one.
“This could be an option, if you really think about it. The next level of Tulsa King,” wrote a social media user, referring to Stallone’s successful series on streaming platforms.
Another commented, “Owwww… Get a team together and make a new series of this movie please,” while one more follower added, “If this were true, you would be perfect for that role!”
Although Stallone has earned fame playing tough characters like Rocky Balboa in the franchise RockyJohn Rambo in the movies Rambo and Dwight “The General” Manfredi in Tulsa Kinghe was actually rejected to be an extra in the famous wedding scene of The Godfather.
“I went to Paramount and said, ‘Can I be an extra in the wedding scene?’” Stallone recalled in an interview with Empire Magazine in 2022. “They said, ‘Yeah, we don’t know if you’re the kind of person for that.’ I told them, ‘Am I not the guy? To appear in the background, hiding behind a damn wedding cake?’”
