Ahoy there all you sea-faring cozy gamers! If ever there were two games we’d love to see melded together into a cute game-child, they’re The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Animal Crossing. Getting the combination of cozy crafting mixed with sea exploration scratches an itch I never knew I had. Maybe I should get that looked at! The visionary team of VoodooDuck clearly agree with me too.
Collector’s Cove over on Steam is a magical mash of genres all with a gorgeous splash of color. The cutesy cartoonish style helps with the overall vibe as this is a cozy game to while away many hours as you relax after a hard day. You get to partake in farming aboard your boat while your rather large dinosaur friend navigates you through unexplored open waters. What’s not to love?
Collector’s Cove Is Available Today (March 12), And You Can Try It Free
Cozy Coastal Vibes Are Here
Along with the official launch today, there is a playable demo that you can try out for free. Collector’s Cove aims to take the art style and sea exploration from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and combine it with the farming, building, decorating mechanics from the Animal Crossing franchise. The level of customization and farming all taking place on your boat reminds me of Spiritfarer and if it has even half the impact of that game, then it’s definitely worth a playthrough.
With no enemies in the world and a focus on friendly encounters, exploration and farming, Collector’s Cove is clearly aimed towards fans of cozy gaming. No stress, no giant boss battles or hordes of zombies to deal with. A bit like a classic Zelda game re-imagined without the combat. Just you, your boat and the friends you meet along the way to keep you company. Chilled vibes fishing out in the open sea sounds like just what the doctor ordered after surviving Resident Evil Requiem.
If You Love Animal Crossing, Check This One Out
Cute Animals And Crafting Combined
Building up your floating farm and customizing your living quarters both looks and feels like it belongs in an Animal Crossing game. The laid-back approach to crafting and exploration also seems to be taking inspiration from Nintendo’s most successful cozy franchise. Best of all, there’s no Tom Nook hounding you for money in Collector’s Cove! While we wait for new Animal Crossing content for March 2026, Collector’s Cove might be the next best thing.
Collector’s Cove officially launches at a discounted price today. If cozy gaming is your jam, then why not download and play the demo first? After all, the only thing you really have to lose is your time. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a fishing rod and a floating farm to mess up! Maybe I’ll bump into The King of Red Lions on my seafaring travels!
