“What is it about being a YouTuber? Start studying,” is what Susana’s mother answered when her daughter told her she wanted to make content. Now the mother is also the protagonist in the videos of Susy Mouriz, who has 33 million subscribers on YouTube and 16.7 million followers on TikTok.
Susy grew up watching videos of Yuya and Germán Garmendia and at 11 years old she also wanted to make content, mainly to make people laugh and disconnect from reality for a moment. Her family didn’t really understand why, but they supported her.
“And that right now Forbes considers me a Top Creator, for me it is a great honor, a great achievement. When I told my dad and my mom they started jumping with excitement,” says Susy.

She considers her audience as her “best friends” because they understand her as she is, and that is her secret to forming a solid community, showing herself as she is. “Be yourselves. Creating a community is looking for faithful people, people who understand, who understand you,” advises the creator and singer.
Remember that 8 years ago the creator ecosystem was very different from what it is now. “Many brands joined in, more companies began to do marketing in their accounts, to make strategies because everything changed, and I feel that it has been a positive impact that has brought benefits to all of us, such as the brands and the creators,” he considers.
However, that means more competition for the public’s attention, which is undoubtedly a big challenge for creators. “Personally, I think the biggest challenge is to organize and look for inspiration and, more than anything, reinvent yourself, because there comes a point where you end up doing the same thing and people get a little bored and you have to find a way to reinvent your content so that people like it, and that you also like it and are passionate about it.”
The creator of Panamanian origin knows that dreams come true. Therefore, the only advice he gives to future creators is to never give up. “I never imagined it and I still think that this is a dream, but you, with a lot of discipline and when you really like something, never stop thinking about it and making an effort, because if there is no effort, if there are no tears, if there is no sweat, if there is none of that in the entire career, believe me, you are not going to achieve it, so sacrifice for that.”
She also asks families to support their children on this path, mentioning that the support of her own family has been fundamental in Susy’s career, which began in 2017.
