Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena presented the Tizimín 2 Wind Farm project, which will supply clean energy to more than 140 thousand homes and will generate 1,000 jobs in its construction.

Díaz Mena announced an investment of 2.6 billion pesos for the project, which will increase the state’s energy capacity by 16%, according to a statement.

The president pointed out that the work, in addition to contributing to the state’s energy transition, will boost the local economy with the creation of 320 direct and 680 indirect jobs during its construction, benefiting the families of Tizimín and nearby communities.

He also highlighted the collaboration between government and private initiative: “This is a clear example that, when the government and private initiative work together, concrete actions are achieved that transform lives.”
