After receiving the appointment of “Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomy 2025”, Yucatán began its participation in the International Tourism Fair 2025 (FITUR).
Within the framework of the 45th edition of FITUR, one of the most important fairs in the world, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena attended together with the Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, to inaugurate the Mexican pavilion at this global event, held in the Spanish capital.
Accompanied by leaders of the business chambers, state officials, leaders and businessmen of the Yucatecan tourism sector, they cut the inaugural ribbon of Yucatán’s stand at FITUR 2025. Díaz Mena highlighted that the Yucatecan delegation participates with great expectations from all the people of the world , to know the cultural, historical, natural attractions, and the gastronomy of Yucatán.
“We have already received the designation of ‘Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomy 2025’, which will allow us to make all of Mexico and the world known about one of the best cuisines in our country,” he mentioned.
The president highlighted that the presence of Yucatán in the global tourism event is not an isolated achievement, “it is the fruit of the joint work of a government committed to bringing the greatness of Yucatán to the world and of a people who, day after day, demonstrate that “The true driving force of our land is its history, its culture and its people.”
Solid Yucatecan presence
The head of the state executive highlighted that Yucatán participates strongly in FITUR 2025, consolidating itself as a benchmark in tourism and investment worldwide and recalled that the Yucatecan delegation presented a solid strategy based on the concept of the “Mayan Renaissance”a vision that combines respect for cultural roots with a focus on innovation and sustainable development.
With a team of more than 40 representatives, including businessmen, authorities and local leaders, Yucatán showed the world its natural, cultural and economic wealth.
The State stand, one of the most visited since the first day of the event, offers a tour of paradisiacal beaches, cenotes, archaeological zones and a unique gastronomic offer, captivating investors and tourists.
Díaz Mena stressed that Yucatán is not only a destination, but a transformative experience, and assured that the ‘Mayan Renaissance’ is a reality that is setting a new course for the State.
