Adam Sandler’s new Netflix movie, Roommates, has set an April 2026 release date.
Though Sandler rose to stardom during the 1990s with a string of hit studio comedies, such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and The Waterboy, since 2015, Sandler has made movies for Netflix under his exclusive deal, including titles like Sandy Wexler, Murder Mystery, Hubie Halloween, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and Happy Gilmore 2.
Now, Netflix has announced that Adam Sandler’s new movie, Roommates, will be released on April 17, 2026. A first look was also revealed in the form of a poster, showing stars Sadie Sandler and Chloe East’s characters taking a selfie together. Check out the poster below:
Produced by Adam Sandler, Roommates stars his daughter, Sadie Sandler, as Devon, a hopeful and naive college freshman who asks the cool and confident Celeste (Chloe East) to be her roommate, and what begins as a blossoming friendship soon spirals into a war of passive aggression.
Roommates is directed by Chandler Levack (I Like Movies) and written by Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara Jane O’Sullivan of Saturday Night Live.
In addition to Sadie Sandler and Chloe East in lead roles, the star-studded cast also includes Billy Bryk, Sarah Sherman, Martin Herlihy, Josh Segarra, Carol Kane, Janeane Garofalo, Aidan Langford, Bella Murphy, Jaya Harper, Storm Reid, Ivy Wolk, Bailee Madison, Natasha Lyonne, and Nick Kroll.
Though Adam Sandler seemingly isn’t starring in Roommates, and is only producing, with an up-and-coming director in Chandler Levack and a star-studded cast that includes several SNL stars, Roommates is a coming-of-age movie to keep an eye out for when it comes to Netflix on April 17.
