In the universe of luxury, few houses have managed to link watchmaking with art as deep as Bvlgari. This year, the Roman Maison presents an unprecedented tribute to Mexico and two of its greatest cultural references: Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The result is two limited editing watches that transcend time, turned into portable art pieces that condense history, identity and artisanal excellence.

BVLGARI decided to undertake a respectful and creative dialogue, the result of a deep research and knowledge, conceived to honor Frida Kahlo’s legacy and Dieg Rivera. After three years of collaboration with Frida Kahlo Corporation and the Rivera family, two watches are born that, beyond measuring time, tell timeless stories.

Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, creative director of Watches Design of Bvlgari, led this project that deeply captures Frida’s intimate essence and Diego’s bold vision, as independent and avant -garde creators who transformed the way of understanding art.

Tubogas Manchette Frida Kahlo

Limited to 25 pieces, this piece embodies the resilience and the free spirit of the artist. With box and yellow gold bracelet, this design revives the iconic technique tubogas of the seventies. Each return of his bracelet is recorded with a phrase taken from Frida’s personal correspondence: “More than a thousand ways to kiss.” We talk about an intimate statement that throbbs in each clock curve. Its white pearl sphere, set with 12 diamonds, and its mechanical movement Lady Solotempo, reflects the watchmaster that makes this piece a collection treasure.

Fine octo Diego Rivera

Also limited to 25 pieces, it is a manifesto of artistic vision and love for his country. With 40 mm yellow gold and satin bracelet, this creation is inspired by a mural that Rivera designed in the Blue House, where the repetition of the Roman number “XI” reveals its inclination for the games of perspective and the beauty of imperfection. Octo Finissimo incorporates for the first time Roman numerals in its sphere, a wink to perpetual innovation. On his back, an engraving with the firm and a self -portrait of the muralist makes each clock a unique work.

Both limited editions demonstrate how Bvlgari manages to tend a bridge between Mexican artistic heritage and the sophistication of Swiss watchmaking. Frida and Diego were not only a couple in life, but creative forces that challenged paradigms; His watches, now, become symbols of that same spirit.

These pieces represent a cultural encounter between Italy and Mexico, between time and eternity. They are ultimately, the proof that a clock can be much more than an instrument: it can become a legacy.
