One of the most appealing aspects of Jujutsu Kaisen‘s anime is how it has managed to introduce so many powerful characters that it’s difficult for fans to keep track of them all. Although the anime features many powerful cursed spirits, the Jujutsu sorcerers who confront them are the heart of the story, with some of them proving to be truly formidable powerhouses.

Many sorcerers have debuted in the anime, and their power can be measured by the effectiveness of their cursed techniques, their brute strength, and their battle intelligence to maximize their abilities. While the characters have the potential to continue evolving in future seasons of the anime, these are the strongest main sorcerers introduced to date in Jujutsu Kaisen‘s story.

Nobara Kugisaki

Despite being part of the main trio, Nobara Kugisaki fell behind on the power scale. Nobara’s Straw Doll Technique allows her to perform long-range attacks, and her Resonance ability connects her voodoo doll to cursed spirits to directly attack their souls, which proved very effective against Mahito. Unfortunately, Nobara lacks the physical prowess and defensive skills necessary to defeat powerful cursed spirits on her own.

Toge Inumaki

Toge Inumaki is a cursed speech user, having the ability to control and command any person or being using his voice. Although it’s a powerful technique inherited from a prestigious clan, it comes with a significant drawback. The more powerful the person he uses it against, the greater the toll will be on Inumaki’s body, potentially causing him significant damage.

Regardless, Inumaki could use commands on strong characters like Geto and Hanami and has one of the highest motor skills among the Jujutsu High students, being on par with Todo and only below Maki and Yuji.

Panda

Created by Masamichi Yaga, Panda is a mutant cursed corpse, a sentient and autonomous being. While its primary core, Panda, is an exceptional and well-rounded fighter, it possesses two more, with even greater power residing in its Gorilla core. What makes Panda so powerful is that it cannot be defeated unless all three of its cores are destroyed, essentially granting it three lives.

Kento Nanami

Kento Nanami’s Ratio Technique allows him to create weak points in his opponents by breaking them down into a 7:3 ratio, thus inflicting massive damage with a single attack. While Nanami could use Black Flash and was strong against ordinary curses, he was inferior when facing special grade cursed spirits. Nanami could have become stronger had he learned Simple Domain.

Mei Mei

Mei Mei is a grade 1 sorcerer whose cursed technique, Black Bird Manipulation, allows her to control crows. While she uses a battle axe as her weapon and primarily employs her technique for infiltration and surveillance, sharing her vision with her crows, her attack, “Bird Strike,” proved to be quite powerful.

Mei Mei demonstrated her strength by defeating the Smallpox Deity, a Special Grade Cursed Spirit. Even so, what allowed her to exorcise it was her teamwork with her brother Ui Ui, who activated his Simple Domain and acted as a decoy.

Atsuya Kusakabe

Despite not having a prominent role compared to other characters, Kusakabe is the strongest grade 1 sorcerer, according to Nanami and Mei Mei. Kusakabe may lack motivation and doesn’t possess a cursed technique, but he has mastered the New Shadow Style, including the fastest “Batto” drawing technique, which he taught to Kasumi Miwa.

Unlike Nanami, Kusakabe seems to be skilled at high-level barriers, protecting Miwa during the Shibuya Incident Arc by stopping Kenjaku’s Uzumaki using his simple domain, which also makes him able to withstand domain expansions.

Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi Fushiguro has experienced tremendous growth as a sorcerer throughout Jujutsu Kaisen‘s story. In addition to inheriting the powerful Ten Shadow Technique of the Zenin clan, he possesses a high battle IQ that allows him to strategize and obtain his own domain expansion, albeit incompletely.

While Megumi has the advantage in most fights thanks to his shikigami, he is outmatched by Todo in terms of raw strength, and his most powerful ability, summoning Mahoraga, only works as a last resort.

Todo Aoi

Aoi Todo is a grade 1 sorcerer that takes fighting to another level thanks to his cursed technique, Boogie Woogie. He also packs immense brute strength, speed, and a high combat intelligence, allowing him to use it effectively in battle. While Todo excels as a support fighter, making him a valuable brother, he can also use Black Flash.

Yuji Itadori

Yuji has a special body that makes him the perfect vessel for Sukuna. In addition to his superhuman strength and resistance that give him an edge in hand-to-hand combat, he can also hit several black flashes, as proved during his fight against Mahito.

After the Shibuya Incident Arc, Yuji even defeated cursed spirits all over Tokyo and was capable of holding his own against Yuta for a while. However, Yuji still has a lot of room to grow during the Culling Game Arc.

Uraume

Uraume is Sukuna’s loyal subordinate who was also incarnated thanks to Kenjaku. Although little is known about their power, Uraume’s innate technique, Ice Formation, proved to be extremely powerful at the end of the Shibuya Incident Arc, hinting they are at least as strong as Choso.

Uraume also possesses a reversed cursed technique, which allows them to easily heal their wounds, making them a tough opponent to fight.
