The Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency (ATDT) reported that it will hire 300 artificial intelligence specialists to help them solve a series of problems identified in customs, collection and the climate in Mexico.

“Of the first graduates, we intend to hire at least 300 directly at the Digital Transformation Agency to solve problems with climate forecasting, tax collection, customs and a series of problems that we have identified,” said Jorge Luis Pérez Hernández, National Coordinator of Digital Infrastructure at ATDT.

Each of the problems identified in the government of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo can be solved with artificial intelligence, he noted within the framework of

Mexico IA+ accelerated investment forum.

The plan is to have human resources, so “we will be training over the next year and little by little we will also be acquiring hardware that can help us solve these problems,” said the government official.

He recalled that the Mexican government gives certainty to companies to locate in Mexico and see a future in investing in the Mexican economy.

“In artificial intelligence we are preparing the Mexico project, innovation, which was presented in its first part last week by the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo at the National Technology in Tláhuac,” he indicated.

The project contemplates the training of 25 thousand young people in Mexico, who will graduate next year with knowledge in artificial intelligence, said Jorge Luis Pérez Hernández.

The young people will be given courses, which were created by the National Technology of Mexico, which already has 250 universities throughout the territory “and with the companies that lead the issue of artificial intelligence worldwide” such as Nvidia, he pointed out.

“There are companies from everywhere, of all sizes and they will be helping to provide the certifications, but also to give the artificial intelligence courses,” said the official.

The intention is to have graduates in 6 months with the necessary skills to implement these technologies within the government, if not in the private initiative.

The training of experts in artificial intelligence is a strategy in which the Ministry of Science, Technology, Humanities and Innovation, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Public Education, and the National Polytechnic Institute participate.

“The entire federal government is supporting and we are betting on these new technologies that we undoubtedly think will solve Mexico’s problems and attract greater investment,” he concluded.
