Latin organizations repudiated on Tuesday that the US president, Donald Trump, would make fun of the Democratic leader in the representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, through a video generated with artificial intelligence (AI) in which he appears with a mustache and a Mexican hat.
The Hispanic Federation, the Victoria Latina Foundation, the United Latin American Citizens League (Lulac), my family votes, United and Latin Vote criticized the altered video of a press conference offered on Monday in the White House by Jeffries and the Democratic leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, after a meeting with Trump to extend the budget that could generate the partial closure of the government.
In the recording, Jeffries appears with a hat and a mustache digitally superimposed, while Schumer’s words were modified to affirm that the Democrats are “shit pieces Woke (progressive).”
With Mexican folk music in the background, Schumer holds in the video that “nobody wants to vote” for their party and that, therefore, the Democrats seek to grant “free medical attention to all illegal immigrants” to win new voters.
“Attacking the Latin community is not only irresponsible, but also representable and inappropriate for the presidency,” organizations said in a joint statement.

The groups were concerned about the use of AI by the Trump administration to “amplify hate stereotypes.”
They warned that the disseminated clip today is not only reckless, but also constitutes “an act of misinformation designed to stigmatize” even more Latinos, especially children, when the tensions facing the community, driven by Trump’s policies and rhetoric, are at their highest point.
However, the groups said that regardless of how many times “malicious politicians” try to marginalize Hispanics the struggle to obtain the place that corresponds to that community will continue.
For his part, Jeffries responded to Trump on the X network ensuring that “racism will not take him anywhere” and demanded to “cancel the cuts, lower the cost of living and save health.” He added: “We are not going to give up.”
While Schumer replied: “If you believe that the closure of government is a joke, it only demonstrates what we all know: you don’t know how to negotiate. You just know how to do tantrums.”
