The arrival of the first president of Mexico and the formation of a first presidential advisory council composed of a majority of women are part of the most important milestones that have been experienced in the last 12 months, explains Altagracia Gómez Sierra, president of the Business Promoter of the West (Peo).
However, it is clear that there are demands that remain in force on the horizon. “We want more women in decision positions (…) We need more women in management advice, we require more women’s presidents, of course, we require more graduated women, particularly in Stem races (which are translated into science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and we require the visibility of women in leadership position,” he warns, in an interview, the businesswoman.

At 13 years of age, Gómez Sierra was already immersed in the business world that made up his family environment through companies such as Minsa, Almer and Dina, to mention some. The moments of his childhood have determined part of their way.
In this sense, its early entrance to the business and the responsibility of assuming the management in each of the companies that make up the group of family firms have been part of the most endearing moments that model the current leadership of Altagracia Gómez Sierra.
“I am Mexican, I am a woman, I am an millennial,” he says, at the time of defining, the head of the Business Advisory Council in the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

Family principles and values allow the businesswoman to understand power and other concepts. “We grew up on the shoulders of giants, from the hand of my parents, of my grandparents, the coexistence we had with the brothers and, on the other hand, being in traditionally familiar companies, but also very Mexican, because we have always had incorporated the concept that our mission is to improve the lives of Mexicans,” he explains.
Altragracia Gómez advises women to take a step forward, because others are already waiting for them and are ready to help them achieve their goals. Today, the next achievement that yearns is for the Mexico Plan to be successful, to be able to encourage the growth of the country and be in the top 10 of world economies.
